Agriculture, huh?
Agriculture in the Adirondacks

This strangely appropriate award noticed a series I wrote for the Adirondack Daily Enterprise (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) about farming in the mountains. It was fun going around and meeting people who produced food in this chilly landscape.

Without further ado, here they are:

Woolly pigs

Meat farming, including Highland cattle

Fabric artist and farmer

That product made from trees’ blood

Columns and commentary from and about our fellow mammals

Below are some links to readers’ favorites. These are “Pet Corner” columns, all of which first appeared in the Ithaca Times.

In Praise of Old Horses

Working with Elephants

Ferrets Need a Lawyer

Bugs as Pets

Cats vs. Birds

Alice the ‘Coon

Horse Therapy

Animals and Acupuncture
